Who We Are

Concord Christian Church is part of the Restoration Movement. It is a movement which aims to restore simple New Testament Christianity. Thousands of individual congregations are part of this loosely organized brotherhood of churches which grew up in and around the year 1800. We have no denominational headquarters or ruling hierarchy of leaders. Each local congregation is self-governing and self-supporting. We are non-sectarian churches of "Christians only." Jesus Christ is the Head of each church and we follow the leading of the Holy Spirit. We take the Bible to be God's holy and inspired Word; our only rule of faith and practice. We believe that the walls dividing Christians today hurt the cause of Christ, and so we long and work for the unity of all believers in accordance with the truth of God. Jesus has placed us here to lead others to Him and to help them grow up in His likeness.

Some of the fundamental principles of the Restoration Movement are:

• We are not the only Christians, but Christians only
• We have no creed but Christ
• We express spiritual truths using Biblical words
• In essentials unity, in opinions liberty, and in all things love
