Community Connection Team

Use your interests and passions to make a difference in our local community. The goal of the Community Connection Team is to bless the greater Concord area through service to people God cares deeply about. Who does God care about? The Bible says He cares about the elderly, children, jobless, hungry, thirsty, poor, prisoners, and more!

Taking it to the Streets. Each spring, the entire church participates in a "burst" of service. We clean, plant, rake, paint, visit, and more! Our goal is to support community agencies and help you "try" different serving opportunities. This allows you to get to know others in our church and get to know our partnering ministries. Over four weeks, we accomplish over 25 service projects. Like to suggest or lead a project? Contact Krista at krista@backyardimpact.com.

Mentoring. Did you know that children who can't read on grade level by 3rd grade have a much higher risk for incarceration as an adult? The simple act of reading with a child can make a huge impact on a life and the community. A new mentoring/reading program is being developed with a local school. To help with the start-up of this new partnership, contact Beth Jones, bethjones_home@hotmail.com.

Homeroom Hope. Did you know that back-to-school expenses exceed $200 per child for most families? In August, we help families feeling a financial crunch as school starts with day of "free" shopping for school supplies, free haircuts, child-health awareness activities and hope. Planning for this event begins as early as May! To serve with this initiative, contact Eric at epruitt@concordchristianchurch.org.
