Do You Experience "Outflow?"

Posted by: Bob Wallace on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 at 12:00:00 am

Imagine your life as a fountain; You know, the old-fashioned, multi-tiered kind of fountain where God is the source and your heart is the first level of that fountain. God is pouring his blessings into your life-filling you to the brim with his love, joy, and hope. Then the moment comes when you are

so full that you can't possibly contain it anymore. Maybe it's a drip at first: a small bit of hope trickling from your life into someone else's, but it isn't long before the water is flowing freely and spilling into the next level of the fountain, and then the next, and the next. God's love unabated: overflowing from you into the lives of your family, friends, neighbors, community, and the world. That's "Outflow." And "Outflow" is outreach like you've never experienced it before.

For the next several weeks, I would love to discuss with you what it means to have God's love pour out of your life into someone else's. We'll be using material from the book, "Outflow," by Steve Sjorgren and Dave Ping. Overflow is about:

  • a richer relationship with God...a relationship like it was intended
  • overflowing with God's love into your friends and family
  • overflowing into your community. Sharing your life with those with whom you are surrounded
  • a living legacy...one that will last long after you are gone

To do this, there will be readings and experiences that will challenge and move us to change our focus paradigm from an internal to an external perspective. Are you ready to be a fountain?

I am soo richly blessed, daily, that I do find myself offering to help in ways that I should not, or follow through on my own. So I know that is my Father interceding... but I fail to give him credit. I love the story about Gail, and how the point of helping was to show and tell of God?s love, not that you are a kind person. B/C we are all kind and willing to help others. There are billions of kind people in this world, but if the point of it isn?t to show Gods love, we are no different as Christians and those people are still lost. This has been an encouragement to me to step out and be bold! ?Bless the Lord o my soul; and all that is within me bless HIS Holy Name!? -Psalm 103.1 Bob- this is great, thanks for doing this!
